Volta Use Policy
This notice applies to all users of Volta services, including those who use apps, websites, functions or other services.
Users: People who order a trip or who are transported, including those who receive the services programmed by a third party through Volta App.
Driver Partners : People who provide transportation service or who send a request to Volta to do so, either individually or through an associated company
Customers: People who ask for or a ride, or other products and services.
This notice also governs other personal data collections of Volta in relation to its services. For example, we may collect contact information from people who use Volta for Business customer accounts, as well as other data regarding our technology and mapping functions. All persons subject to this notice will be referred to as "users."
1.Data collection and uses:
1. Data provided by users. This includes the following:
User profile : We collect the data generated when users create or update their Volta accounts, which may include your name, email, phone number, username and password, address, profile picture, payment or bank details ( including your check), government identification documents, such as driver's license numbers and images, date of birth, signature and photo. Also included is the vehicle or insurance information of Driver Partners and Delivery Partners, and user settings. We can use the photos sent by the Driving Partners or the Delivery Partners to verify their identities, using technologies such as facial recognition. Background and identity verification: We collect data on the background and identity verification of Driver Partners, such as driving history, criminal records (when permitted by law) and right to work. An authorized provider may collect this information on behalf of Volta. We also collect identity verification data from customers who order alcoholic beverages.
Demographic data: We can collect demographic information about users, including through surveys aimed at them. In some countries we can also receive demographic data about third-party users.
User content: We collect the information that users send when they contact Volta customer support, give ratings or acknowledgments to other users or to Partners, or contact Volta in some other way. This may include comments, photographs or other recordings collected by users.
2. Data created during the use of our services. This includes the following:
Location data: If the user allows it, we collect precise or approximate location data from your mobile device. In the case of Driver Partners and Delivery Partners, Volta collects this information when the Volta app runs in the foreground (open and on-screen app) or in the background (open, but not on-screen app) of your device mobile. In the case of users, customers and tenants, Volta collects this data when the Volta app runs in the foreground. In certain regions (which do not include the European Union), this information can also be collected when the Volta app runs in the background on the user's mobile device. Users, customers and tenants can use Volta apps without allowing location data to be collected from their mobile devices. Nevertheless, This may affect some available functions. For example, if a user does not allow location data to be collected, they must manually enter their starting point. In addition, the location data collected from a Driver Partner or a rental device during a trip will be linked to the user's or renter's account, even if they did not allow it to be collected, to generate receipts, provide customer support, detect fraud , and for insurers and litigation.
Transaction information : We collect transaction data related to the use of our services, which includes the type of service requested or provided, order details, delivery information, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, distance Tour and payment method. Also, if someone uses a promo code, we can associate your name with that person.
Usage data: We collect information about how users interact with our services, such as the date and time of access, functions of the app or page views, app failures and other system activities, type of browser, and sites or services from third parties used before interacting with our services. In some cases we collect this data through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers. To learn more about these technologies, see our Cookie Notice .
Device data : We may collect data on the devices used to access our services, including hardware models, IP address, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, and movement information of the device or mobile networks.
Communication data: We allow users to communicate with each other and with Volta through mobile apps and Volta websites. For example, we allow communication between Driver Partners and users, SMS or sending other files (usually without revealing their phone numbers). To provide this service, Volta receives certain data related to calls, SMS or other communications, such as its date, time and content. Volta may also use this information to provide customer support services (including to resolve disputes between users), for security purposes, to improve our products and services, and to perform analysis.
3. Data from other sources. This includes the following:
User comments, such as ratings, opinions or acknowledgments.
Users who participate in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers to another person, we receive the guest information.
Volta account holders who request services for other users or on their behalf, or who allow them to request or receive services through their accounts, including Volta account holders for Businesses.
Users or other people who provide data in relation to claims or conflicts.
Volta business partners through which users create or access their Volta account, such as paid providers, social media services, or apps or websites that use the Volta APIs or whose APIs are used by Volta.
Volta business partners related to the  Volta Visa Card to the extent disclosed in the Card Terms and Conditions.
Suppliers that help us verify the identity of users, background information and compliance with the requirements to work for regulatory and safety purposes.
Providers of insurance, vehicles or financial services for Driver Partners or for Delivery Partners.
Associated transport companies (for Driver Partners or for Delivery Partners who use our services through an account related to that company).
Publicly available sources.
Marketing service providers.
Volta may combine the information collected from these sources with other data it possesses.
2. How we use personal data
Volta collects and uses information to provide transportation services, as well as to offer other products and services. We also use the data collected to do the following:
Improve the security of users and services
Provide customer support
Perform research and development tasks
Allow communication between users
Send marketing and other communications to users
Address issues related to legal procedures
Volta does not sell or disclose personal data of the user to third parties for direct marketing purposes, unless users give their consent.
